Courtney Love Bio
Courtney Love is an American singer, songwriter, and actress born in San Francisco, California on July 9, 1964. She became well known in the 90s as the lead vocalist and founder of the alternative rock band Hole. She grew up in Portland, Oregon and was part of a few short-lived bands in the local punk scene. Love landed her first role in acting in 1984 in the film Club Vatican and continued landing roles in films and television shows like Sid and Nancy, Tapeheads, 200 Cigarettes, Beat, Trapped, Empire, Sons of Anarchy, Feel Minnesota, Straight to Hell, Man on the Moon, Julie Johnson, and others. In 1988 she taught herself how to play guitar and put an ad out to find bandmates to start a band. In 1989 she started the band Hole with Eric Erlandson, Mike Giesbrecht, Lisa Roberts, and Caroline Rue. Together they released 4 studio albums, 3 Eps, 1 compilation album, and over 20 singles. In 2004 she released her debut solo album titled America’s Sweetheart. Throughout her career she has been nominated for a number of awards and has won an Outfest Award, an Online Film & Television Association Award, two Boston Society of Film Critics Award, a Florida Film Critics Circle Award, a New York Film Critics Circle Award, and an Orville H. Gibson Award.
