Adam Rodriguez is an American actor, director and screenwriter, born in Yonkers, New York on April 2, 1975. He is best known for his roles in the television series CSI: Miami, Criminal Minds, and the films Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL. Initially he wanted to become a professional basketball player, but a back injury in high school forced him to give up that dream. He made his debut in television on the television show NYPD Blue. He has also had roles in the series Brooklyn South, Law & Order, All Souls, CSI: Miami, NCIS, Reckless, Empire, Criminal Minds, and others. In 2001 he made his debut in film in the movie Imposter and has since been in the films Love & Debate, Unknown, Take, Magic Mike, Lovesick, Magic Mike XXL, CHiPs, among others. In 2011 he was a writer and director on an episode of CSI: Miami, which was his directorial debut. He has also directed an episode of Scorpion and Criminal Minds. Rodriguez was nominated for an MTV Movie Award in 2013 for Best Musical Moment in the film Magic Mike.
