Charles Leclerc Bio

Charles Leclerc is a Monégasque F1 racing driver born in Monte-Carlo in 1997. At age 12 he won the cadet karting championship in France, and by 2012 he was disputing the winner title at the European KF2 and KZ1 championships. His single-seat racing debut came in the 2014 Renault Formula 2.0 Championship, finishing in the runner-up position. The following year he ascended to Formula 3 and earned podium positions and a victory in Monaco, and ended in the fourth position for the season. In 2016 he was recruited for the Ferrari Driver Academy and moved to the GP3 category, where he won the title. Leclerc then ascended to Formula 2, where he raced with the Prema team and won the 2017 championship. In 2018 the driver made his F1 debut in the Sauber team, and a year later he officially joined the Ferrari team, winning the Italian Grand Prix and that season’s Pole Trophy.
