Born as Pierre-Richard Maurice Charles Leopold Defays, on August 16, 1934, in Valenciennes, France, Pierre Richard is a famous French actor, film director, and screenwriter. He is considered to be one of the greatest and most talented French comedians in the last 50 years, being most famous for his roles in comedy films. He started his acting career appearing in theater roles, until 1968 when he had his debut film role in the film Very Happy Alexander. Pierre Richard directed his first film in 1970, named Le Distrait. He is famous for appearing in roles that have been named the same but have no other link in between them with those being the roles of Francois Perrin, Pierre Renaud, and Francois Pignon.
