Zola Jesus, born Nicole Hummel on April 11th 1989 in Phoenix, Arizona is an American record producer, singer and songwriter. With a genre crossing sound that encompasses pop, electronic, industrial, classical and Goth sounds, her career began in 2006. Her debut album released in 2009 with her debut album The Spoils which became a hit, launching her to success, and she became known for her unique sound, often compared to Kate Bush, Florence Welch and the Cocteau Twins.
Releasing a steady stream of music since her debut in 2009, she has released five albums this far, the latest album Okovi debuted high on the United States Dance charts. With recent hits such as Dangerous Days, New France, Skin, Exhumed and Soak, she is considered to be a unique addition to the industry.
