Jeff Daniels was born on February 19, 1955 in Clarke County, Georgia. Jeff has starred in a wide array of New York productions. He appeared in Redwood Curtain (1995), and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Fifth of July. He made his film debut in Ragtime (1981) and earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in The Purple Rose Of Cairo (1985). He has also appeared in films like Because of Winn-Dixie (2005), Pleasantville (1998), and 101 Dalmations (1996). He starred alongside Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumberer in 1994, which was unexpectedly a huge hit. Jeff is most recently known for his role in the Primetime Emmy Award winning and Golden Globe nominated series The Newsroom (2012-2014).
