Evander Holyfield is an American professional boxer born on October 19, 1962, in Atmore, Alabama. He started to box at the age of 7 and by the age of 13, he already qualified for the Junior Olympics. When he was 15 years old, he was already the Southeastern Regional Champion. In 1984 he won the National Golden Gloves and represented the United States in the Olympics of Los Angeles California. In 1988, he moved to the heavyweight division and became very successful in the heavyweight championships, claiming the title in 1990, 1993, and after a short break due to health reasons, in 1996. He became the first boxer of his time to win three times the heavyweight title. He continued fighting and winning in boxing competitions of WBF, winning in total, five times the heavyweight title. In 2014 he retired officially from boxing.
