Zac Posen Bio
Zachary E. Posen, born on October 24, 1980, in New York, United States, is an American fashion designer internationally acclaimed for his fabulous evening and ball gowns. After studying pattern making at the Parsons School of Design, he graduated from Saint Ann’s in 1999 and landed a position at the Tocca fashion house as a design assistant. While still a student at the University of the Arts London, his creative flair and cutting-edge design capabilities caught the eye of American model Naomi Campbell who was the first celebrity to order one of his dresses. Posen made his runway debut at the New York Fashion Week in 2002 with his feminine dresses stealing the spotlight and went on to establish his design studio. He was also crowned with the Council of Fashion Designers of America's 2004 Swarovski's Perry Ellis Award for Womenswear. During his stellar career, he has dressed famous Hollywood celebrities including Natalie Portman, Rihanna, Kate Winslet, Claire Danes, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, and more. However, the designer closed his company in November 2019.
