Chayce Beckham is an American singer-songwriter who catapulted to popularity after winning the nineteenth season of the American Idol singing reality program.
Beckham was born in Victorville, California, to Windie Petersen and grew up in Victorville, Hesperia, and Apple Valley. He attended Hesperia's Carmel Elementary School, Apple Valley's Vanguard Preparatory School, and Apple Valley's Sitting Bull Academy before enrolling in Glendora High School at 12 and graduating from Whitcomb High School in 2014.
In Los Angeles, California, Beckham auditioned for the nineteenth season of the singing reality show American Idol. After surviving Hollywood Week and reaching the Top 5, Beckham earned the most votes and was declared winner of the twenty-first season of American Idol on May 23, 2021, defeating runner-up Willie Spence.
He performed "23," a song he composed in 2020, on American Idol, and it went to No. 1 on the iTunes list.
