Carlos Correa was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on September 22, 1994. He was the first round pick of the Houston Astros in the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft. He currently plays for Houston Astros and serves as the shortstop. He made his MLB debut on June 2015. He earned various honors since he turned pro including the American League Rookie of the Year in 2015. He was also in the All-Star Game in 2017. Correa was the AL Rookie of the Month in June 2015 and the Player of the Month in May 2017. He has also been the Player of the Week three times. He represented the Puerto Rico national team in the World Baseball Classic held in Los Angeles in 2017 and earned a silver medal.
