Bernd Leno is a German footballer, born on March 4, 1992, in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany. He plays as the goalkeeper for the German national team and Arsenal. Even though Germany is home to many world-class goalkeepers, Leno is another talent who impressed everyone with reliability and consistency. He began his career in 2009 by joining the youth team at SV Germania Bietigheim and was one of the most impressive goalkeepers around. He quickly made it to the Germany Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, and Under-21 teams.
In 2011, he signed a contract with VfB Stuttgart. In 2015 he got his call up to the German national team for the qualifiers of Euro 2016, and he made his international debut for Germany during a friendly match against Slovakia. Leno was also plucked from Stuttgarts’ reserves by Bayern Leverkusen on a 5-month loan in 2011, due to an injury to Rene Adler. In 2017, he was part of the German team that won the FIFA Confederations Cup. In 2018 he made the move to Arsenal after playing 7 years at Bayern Leverkusen. Unai Emery, Arsenal’s coach, is said to be very impressed by Leno.
