Cheque Bio
Akanbi Bamidele Brett, better known by his stage name Cheque or Superboy Cheque, is a singer and rapper born on March 23, 1995, in Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria. While he was in university, he discovered Zamorra, who inspired Cheque to hone his skill as a musician. While terrible at first, he slowly learned how to become a better singer and rapper, posting some of his songs to his social media pages. In 2015, under the name Kyle B, Cheque released his first EP, S.O.O.N. After gaining popularity from his freestyle covers, Cheque gained the attention of the rapper Phyno. Phyno contacted Cheque and in 2019, Cheque was signed to Phyno’s label, Penthauze. Cheque released his first EP with the label, Razor, later that same year. Cheque has collaborated with other artists like DaVido, Wale, and Blaqbonez.
