Janicza Bravo is an American film director and wardrobe stylist who was born on February 25th 1981 in New York City, New York, United States. She spent her life between Panama and the United States. She grew up in an Army base in Panama until she was thirteen. However, she studied Directing and Design for Theatre at New York University’s Playwrights Horizons Theater School.
Janicza is best known as a series regular in HBO’s Camping. She has mounted plays in major cities like in New York, Los Angeles, and Madrid. One of her plays Eat premiered at SXSW and her Gregory Go Boom played at the Sundance Film Festival. The short film won the Short Film Jury Award at Sundance. In 2015 Filmmaker Magazine named her as one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film.
