Amber Tamblyn Bio

Amber Tamblyn is an American actress and writer born in Santa Monica, California on May 14, 1983. She is best known for her roles in the shows General Hospital and Joan of Arcadia. She started acting at a young age and played Pippi Longstocking in a school play, catching the attention of her father’s agent who was attending as a family friend. She started going to auditions and landed her first role in 1995 in the show General Hospital. She continued landing roles in shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Boston Public, Without a Trace, Joan of Arcadia, The Unusuals, House, Portlandia, Two and a Half Men, Drunk History and more. She made her debut in film the same year as her debut in television, in 1995 in the movie Live Nude Girls. Tamblyn has also had roles in the films The Ring, The Grudge 2, Spiral, Blackout, 127 Hours, Main Street, Django Unchained, Nostalgia and others. In 2009 she published her first book Bang Ditto and has written several other books like Free Stallion, Dark Sparkler, Any Man, and Era of Ignition. Throughout her career she has been nominated for a number of awards and has won two YoungStar Awards, a Saturn Award, and a Locarno International Film Festival Award.
