Josh Reddick Bio

Josh Reddick is an American professional basketball player born in Savannah, Georgia on February 19, 1987. He is currently an outfielder for the Houston Astros of the Major League Baseball League. Reddick played baseball in high school at South Effingham High School in Guyton, Georgia. He went on to play college baseball at Middle Georgia College. In 2006 he was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 17th round of the 2006 MLB Draft. He was called up to the major leagues in 2009 to replace Adam LaRoche. He made his MLB debut against on July 31, 2009, against the Baltimore Orioles. In 2011 he was traded to the Oakland Athletics with Raul Alcantara and Mile Head for Andrew Bailey and Ryan Sweeney. Reddick was named the American League right field Gold Glove Award winner in 2012. In 2016 he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers with Rich Hill for several other players. Later that year he signed a four-year deal with the Houston Astros for $52 million. Throughout his MLB career he has recorded 136 home runs, 507 runs batted in, and a batting average of .264.
