Adrian Beltre was born in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic on April 7, 1979. He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1994. He made his MLB debut on June 1998. During his career in professional football, he played in four All-Star Games – from 2010 to 2012 and in 2014. He also received the American League Platinum Glove in 2011 and 2012, the AL Wilson Defensive Player in 2012, and the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award in 2014. He managed to win five Gold Gloves – in 2007, 2008, 2012, 2012, and 2016. He also managed to earn four silver sluggers, and he became the Player of the Month four times. On November 2018, Beltre decided to announce his retirement from the Texas Rangers – the team he played in since 2011.
