Born in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 27, 1994, Corey Seager was the first round, 18th overall pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2012 MLB Amateur Draft. His current position is shortstop. He made his debut on September 3, 2015. He was supposed to go to the University of South Carolina after he received an offer for a college baseball scholarship, but he opted to play for the Dodgers. He signed a deal with the team and received a $2.35M signing bonus. He participated in the All-Star Games twice – in 2016 and 2017. He also received the NL Rookie of the Year Award in 2016. He earned two Silver Sluggers in 2016 and 2017, and he was also the Rookie of the Month for June 2016.
