Keenen Ivory Desuma Wayans, better known as Keenen Wayans, is an American filmmaker, writer, comedian, and actor best known for his work in film and television. He was born in New York City, New York, United States, on June 8, 1958. Keenen began his acting career in the early 1980s when he appeared in the TV series Cheers, The Renegades, For Love and Honor, and the film Irene. He eventually began to switch his career focus to filmmaking, screenwriting and directing. His filmography behind the camera includes White Chicks, Little Man, Dance Flick, I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, and The Glimmer Man, but he is best known for directing the comedy film Scary Movie alongside Anna Faris, Marlon Wayans, Carmen Electra, and Regina Hall. Keenen has won two BET Awards for Outstanding Writing for a Box Office Movie and Outstanding Directing for a Box Office Movie.
