Shoba Narayan Bio

Shoba Narayan is a film, television, and theater actress born on November 5, 1989, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA. In 2016, she debuted on Broadway in the 12-time Tony-nominated musical Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812, opposite Josh Groban. She became the first South Asian female in a principal role since Bombay Dreams.

The Bharatanatyam dancer has performed throughout India and The United States, including at AAPI Rising: An AAPI Heritage Month Celebration, The 71st Annual Tony Awards, The Today Show, and Good Morning America. Shoba portrayed Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton in the second national tour of the Angelica Company's Hamilton in February 2018. In 2020, she starred as Nessarose in Broadway's Wicked.

She has appeared on Broadway Profiles with Tamsen Fadal and Broadway.com #LiveatFive. The New York-based actress has starred in the award-winning independent feature film Growing Up Smith, ABC's Quantico, The CW's Gossip Girl, Netflix's Coin Heist, and Noah Baumbach's Mistress America. In addition, she portrayed Princess Jasmine in Broadway's Aladdin and Simran in the world premiere of Come Fall in Love - The DDLJ Musical.
