Trent Reznor is an American singer, songwriter, and producer recognized as the leader of the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails. He was born in 1965 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, and became a studio engineer in his 20s. In 1989 he started Nine Inch Nails and started gaining a following. His 1992 EP “Broken” became a top ten album and won a Grammy award. NIN’s second album “The Downward Spiral” (1993) went multi-platinum, and put Reznor on the path to compose the soundtrack for Oliver Stone’s “Natural Born Killers”. The 1990s would also see Reznor collaborating with David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, and Joy Division. In 1999 Reznor released the chart-topping album “The Fragile” with Nine Inch Nails, and a remix album, then taking time off in the early 2000s. More successes with Nine Inch Nails ensued, and in 2010 he released an Oscar-winning soundtrack for the movie “The Social Network”, in collaboration with Atticus Ross. Reznor also contributed with some soundtracks to the feature films “Gone Girl”, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, and HBO’s series “Watchmen”. Adding Ross to the Nine Inch Nail lineup, the band issued more chart-topping singles compiled in 2018’s LP “Bad Witch”.
