Matoma Bio

Matoma is a Norwegian DJ and record producer. His real name is Tom Stræte Lagergren and he was born on the 29th of May, 1991, in Åsnes, Hedmark, Norway. His interest in music began at a young age and as a child he learned to play piano. He won a contest to perform alongside famous pianists Leif Ove Andsnes and Håvard Gimse. He began mixing as a teenager and he pursued his musical studies in Music Technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He started mixing popular hits like Notorious B.I.G.’s “Old Things Back” and Marlon Roudette’s single “When The Beat Drops”. In 2015, he collaborated with Cosmo Klein to release a remix of MYNGA’s “Back Home”. The next year, he did a collaboration with The Vamps for the single “All Night”.
