Vintage Culture is the stage name of Brazilian electronic music DJ and producer Lukas Ruiz. He was born Lukas Hespanhol Ruiz on the 7th of July, 1993, in Mundo Novo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Ruiz’s musical style has been described as a mix between deep house and dance music. He began his career by releasing a string of remixes like New Order’s “Blue Monday” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in The Wall” which went viral on the internet. He also liked to remix Brazilian classics like “Bete Balanco” by Cazuza, and Fernanda Abreu’s 1980s hits. In 2015, Ruiz reached number 118 in the Top DJs of DJ MAG and number 2 on the list of best Brazilian DJs by House Mag. In 2016, he released his breakthrough EP “Hollywood” and soon after he remixed “Drinkee” which charted on number 4 on the Beatport Dance/Electronic chart.
