Dave Mason Bio

Dave Mason is a British singer-songwriter who first gained notoriety as a member of the 1960’s rock band Traffic. He was born in 1946 in Worcester, England, and started his career in the early 60s participating in youth bands like the Jaguars and the Hellions. By the late 60s he was topping the charts with Traffic, a band he founded along with Steve Winwood, authoring hits like “Hole In My Shoe”. After moving to the US, he released his debut solo album titled “Alone Together”, which was certified gold. In the early 70s, he worked with bands alongside Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Cass Elliot, before releasing Headkeeper in 1972. After signing with Columbia the artist saw a string of commercial successes with “Dave Mason” (1974), Split Coconut (1975), Let it Flow (1977), “Mariposa de Oro” (1978), and a full concert in high profile venues like New York’s Madison Square Garden. After some solo albums in 1980 and a duet with Phoebe Snow, he joined Fleetwood Mac in 1993, featuring on the 1995 album “Time”. Mason returned to the studio in 2008 to release “26 Letters 12 Notes”, and in 2014 to release “Future Past”.
