Frànçois and The Atlas Mountains is a French-British pop group founded in 2005 in Bristol, England. The band is popular for combining indie pop and indie-folk. It is led by French musician François Marry, with Amaury Ranger, David Nzeyimana, Frànçois Marry, George McKenzie, and Jean Thévenin as members.
Their first album, The People to Forget was released in 2006 under Stitch-Stitch. As of now, Frànçois and The Atlas Mountains have seven albums in circulation, their latest release being Banana Bleue (2021). Some of their top tracks include Holly Golightly, Julie, and Grand Dérèglement (Superpoze Remix). They have also released 3 EPs and four singles.
Frànçois and The Atlas Mountains worked with Jaakko Eino Kalevi and Renaud Letang on their recent album, released under Domino recordings. They have also been associated with Fence, Domino, and Talitres recording labels.
Some members of the band also play in Camera Obscura, Petit Fantôme, Jaune!, Archipel and Babe. Their music includes elements of highlife guitars, breezy pop melodies, and afrobeat rhythms.
