Steve Mason came from Edinburgh, Scotland. He is known for his folk, rock, electronic, and experimental music. He was able to make the group Beta Band to become among the brightest acts in the Great Britain’s post-Brit-pop world. Originally a duo together with Gordon Anderson, the Beta Band was formed in the mid-90s. However, Anderson left shortly while new members Robin Jones, John Maclean, and Richard Greentree joined Mason to continue the Beta Band.
Their three EPs was released under Regal label, which then led to the release of their debut album entitled “The Beta Band” in 1999. Their next album “Hot Shots II” received better reviews than the first, followed by 2004’s “Heroes to Zeros.” However, the group disbanded afterwards. With this, Mason went solo and released his debut “King Biscuit Time” in 1998.
