Nasim Pedrad is an Iranian-born, American actress, voice actress, comedian, and writer who is best known for her time on Saturday Night Live. She was born in Tehran, Iran, on November 18, 1981. She acted in the blockbuster film Aladdin, and she lent her voice to the animated films Despicable Me 2 and Dr. Seuss’ the Lorax. She began her TV career in 1999 on The Mike & Ben Show, and she has gone on to act in the TV series ER, Mulaney, Scream Queens, People of Earth, New Girl, and Chad. Between 2009 and 2018, Nasim starred in the live sketch show Saturday Night Live alongside other comedians and actors Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon, Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, and Maya Rudolph. For her voice acting on the animated film Despicable Me 2, Nasim received a nomination for Best Vocal Ensemble in a Feature Film at the Behind the Voice Actors Awards.
