Richa Moorjani is a South-Asian-American actress and dancer, best known for her portrayal as the brilliant and beautiful “Kamala” in the award winning Netflix series “Never Have I Ever.” Her performance in the drama-comedy series gained her global audience and recognition.
Born Richa Shukla on May 26, 1989 in San Francisco Bay Area, California, Richa grew up in a family of performing artists. It wasn’t a surprise that she ended up being an actress. Her journey started in middle school, first performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She studied Communications at the University of California, Davis and graduated in 2011.
While studying in California, she attended the Tarangini School of Kathak Dance to become a professional dancer. She is trained in different western and Indian dance styles, and exceptionally good at it.
After appearing as a guest actor in TV series like NCIS: Los Angeles and 9-1-1, she landed a major role in the 2020 Netflix series, “Never Have I Ever.” Her other projects include; Love Fool, X: Past is Present, Immortal Corpse, and True Story.
Aside from acting and dancing, Richa is an environmentalist and advocate for Animal Rights and gender equality. She is married to Bharat Rishi Moorjani.
