Amanda Shires was born on the March 5, 1982 in Texas. Her career as a violinist and songwriter began at the tender age of ten when she got her first violin. She joined her first band, Texas Playboys, at the age of 15. In 2005, she released her debut album Being Brave. She released two more collaborations, West Cross Timbers and Sew Your Heart With Wires in 2009. Her next solo album Carrying Lightning came out in 2011. She won the Emerging Artist of the Year at the Americana Music Honors & Awards in 2017. She spends her time featuring on tours, making collaborative music and working on her album.
