American basketball coach, Jason Freredick Kidd was born on 23rd March 1973 in San Francisco, California. In college he played for the California Golden Bears before being drafted second overall in the 1994 NBA draft by the California Golden Bears. He won the NBA Rookie of the Year award in his debut season. Following this, he played for the Phoenix Suns and the New Jersey Nets. He led the latter to the NBA Finals for two consecutive years. Kidd retired from his playing career with the New York Knicks in 2013. He became the assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers, winning the NBA championship with the team in 2020. Kidd is the head coach for the Dallas Mavericks with whom he won the NBA championships in 2011. He is considered one of the finest point guards and has been a 10-time NBA All-Star, nine time NBA All Defence Player and a five time All-NBA first player.
