Jay Baruchel Bio
Jay Baruchel is a Canadian actor, stand up comedy, director, and screenwriter. He was born Jonathan Adam Saunders Baruchel on the 9th of April 1982, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He started his acting career at age 13 in a local television series called “My Home Town”. The next year he co-hosted the education series “Popular Mechanics for Kids” alongside Elisha Cuthbert. In 2001, he co-starred with Seth Rogen and Carla Gallo in Judd Apatow’s acclaimed sitcom “Undeclared”. In 2002, he got to perform alongside actors such as James Van Der Beek and Ian Somerhalder in the movie “The Rules of Attraction”. He also performed in several comedies such as “She’s Out of My League”, “Knocked Up”, and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” alongside Nicolas Cage. Baruchel also voiced a character in “How to Train Your Dragon”. He won the Annie Awards in the category Best Voice Acting in an Animated Feature Production for his work. He was nominated at the Genie Awards as Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for his work in the movie “The Trotsky” and he won the Best Actor Award.
