Dominique Thorne Bio
Dominique Thorne (born on May 11, 1997 in New York) is an American actress, best known for starring in “Judas and the Black Messiah” as Judy Harmon and “If Beale Street Could Talk” as Sheila Hunt.
She is of the Trinidadian descent. She was raised alongside her two brothers, Ky-Mani and Caleb, by her parents Nerissa and Naive Guy. In her senior year at high school, she was presented with the Young Arts Award in Spoken Theater and the US Presidential Scholar in the Arts in 2015.
Due to her academic brilliance, she got offers to study at various universities. She eventually chose Cornell University, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Human Development in 2019. Before her enrollment into Cornell, she had studied dramatic theater at the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan formally.
Thorne has appeared in a couple of Television shows and films. She made her acting debut in the film, “If Beale Street Could Talk” as the younger sister of the lead character Fonny Hunt. Her performance convinced the crew to play Judy Harmon in the 2021 film, “Judas and the Black Messiah.” It has been announced she will feature in the upcoming Marvel superhero film, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
