Constance Wu is an American actress born in Richmond, Virginia on March 22, 1982. She is best known for her role in the film Crazy Rich Asians and for her role in the comedy television show Fresh Off the Boat. She attended college at the State University of New York at Purchase Conservatory of Theater Arts and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree of fine arts in acting. After graduating from college she moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting career. In 2006 she landed her debut role in film in the movie Stephanie Daley and continued landing roles in films like Year of the Fish, Sound of My Voice, Parallels, Crazy Rich Asians, Electric Slide, Deadly Revenge, Hustlers, and others. She made her debut on television in 2006 in the show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and has also had roles in the shows One Life to Live, Touchwood, EastSiders, Covert Affairs, Children’s Hospital, Royal Pains, Fresh Off the Boat, Dimension 404, and more. Throughout her career she has been nominated for a number of awards and has won two Indie Series Awards, and a National Board of Review Award.
