Damian Lewis is an English actor born in St John’s Wood, England on February 11, 1971. He is best known for his roles in the television series Band of Brothers, HomeLand, and Wolf Hall. He decided to become an actor at the age of 16 and became a stage actor for the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has been in productions of Little Eyolf, Cymbeline, Pillars of the Community, Hamlet, American Buffalo, and The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?. He made his debut on a television show in 1995 in the show Agatha Christie’s Poirot and went on to be in shows like Life Force, Band of Brothers, The Forsyte Saga, Homeland, Life, Billions, and others. In 1997 he made his debut in film in the movie Robinson Crusoe. He has also been in the films Dreamcatcher, Brides, An Unfinished Life, The Baker, Your Highness, Romeo & Juliet, Queen of the Desert, Our Kind of Traitor, and more. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won a Golden Globe Award, an Emmy Award, a Satellite Award, a Dorian Award, and a Biarritz International Festival of Audiovisual Programming Award.
