Taron Egerton Bio

Taron Egerton is a Welsh actor and singer. He was born on the 10th of November, 1989, in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. He started acting at age 15, at the Ysgol Penglais School, before going to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, in London. During his school years, he received the Stephen Sondheim Society's Student of the Year Award. He did his acting debut in 2011, playing a small role in the ITV series “Lewis”. In 2014, he got his first breakthrough, when he was cast as Gary Eggsy Unwin, in Matthew Vaughn’s movie “The Kingsman: The Secret Service” and its sequel “Kingsman: The Golden Circle”. He played alongside Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson. In 2014, Egerton co-starred along with Alicia Vikander in “Testament of Youth”, a British drama based on Vera Brittain’s life. In 2018 he starred in “Billionaire Boys Club” alongside Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, and Emma Roberts. The next year, he portrayed musician Elton John in the biopic “Rocketman”, and his performance earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
