Cary Elwes is an English actor, born on October 26, 1962, in London. He is best known for starring in popular movies including The Princess Bride, Saw, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. In 2018, he also joined the cast of the popular Netflix TV show Stranger Things.
He moved to the U.S., after graduating from Harrow in London, to study drama at Sarah Lawrence College but left after two years to begin his film career. He is the brother of artist Damian Elwes, and producer/agent, Cassian Elwes. He is well respected by colleagues and fans, and considered by many as one of the finest actors working today. He is politically active for causes he believes in, like protecting the environment and helping Native American people. His career includes films, television, voice-over, motion capture, theatre, and literature. Some of his other works include a co-written screenplay for a film entitled Elvis & Nixon. He is also popular for starring in the popular TV show The Art of More, alongside Kate Bosworth and Christian Cooke.
