Júlio César is a former professional football player who played as a goalkeeper. Born on 3rd September 1979 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Cesar started his career in 1991 with Flamengo academy. After seven years with the youth setup, he joined the senior team and made 135 appearances for the Brazilian club. In 2005, he joined Chievo but never made a single appearance for the Italian club. In the same year, he signed with Inter Milan. He went on to make 228 appearances for the club.
In 2012, he joined Queens Park Rangers (QPR). He made 24 appearances for QPR between 2012 and 2014. He later went on loan to Toronto FC before signing with Benfica in 2014. He made 57 appearances for the Portuguese club before returning to Flamengo in 2018. During the 2009 -10 season, he was named UFA Club Goalkeeper of the Year. Cesar has also represented his home country Brazil on the international stage. He received his first call to the team in 2004.
