Spanish Flamenco Singer Ramón Jiménez Salazar but more commonly known as Diego el Cigala was born in December of 1968. At a young age, Diego was fascinated by the sound of Flamenco and was later invited to sing for dancers as well as invited to collaborate with artists such as Mario Maya, Cristóbal Reyes, Farrruco, Manuel Camacho, and Manolete.
His career started in 1997 with the release of his debut album Undebel, produced by David Amaya. A short 3 years later he produced his second album, Entre Vareta y Canasta, where he worked alongside award-winning Spanish director Fernando Trueba to produce the video of Entre vareta y Canasta. His 2001 album, Corren Tiempos de Alegría, was nominated at the Latin Grammys for best flamenco album.
