Ida Mae Bio
Ida Mae is an acoustic alt-folk duet from Norfolk, England, comprised of husband and wife Chris Turpin and Stephanie Jean.
The couple attributes their influences to the sound of Americana and Deep South blues-rock, delivering beautiful and atmospheric tunes with resonant guitar and impassioned vocals. Chasing Lights, their debut album, was released in 2019.
After Turpin's previous band, Kill It Kid, released three albums in Bath, Somerset, the two decided to collaborate. He wanted to attempt something else with Jean, and the two spent time creating and recording their own work, which was considerably different from Kill It Kid in terms of sound (that was influenced by alternative rock and grunge).
