Tia Gostelow is an Indigenous Australian singer and songwriter who was born on October 12, 1999, in Mackay, Queensland. She began her professional musical career at just 17 years old when she released 2016 her debut single titled “The State of Art”. This single became popular thanks to the Triple J radio station and won that year's Indigenous Initiative award. That year she was invited to perform at Bigsound at the same time she released her second single “Vague Utopia”. The following year she released the single “That’s What You Get”, which was nominated 6 times at the Queensland Music Awards, winning two of them. Her first album was released in 2018 and it was titled Thick Skin, which ended up winning Album of the Year at the 2019 Queensland Music Awards. In 2020 she released a live version of her first album but also a new one, which was called Chrysalis.
