Kenta Maeda is a Japanese professional baseball player who plays as a pitcher in Major League Baseball. He was born in Tadaoka, Osaka, Japan, on April 11, 1988. Kenta began his baseball career playing for PL Gakuen Senior High School, and he turned professional in 2008 when he made his debut for the Nippon Professional Baseball side Hiroshima Toyo Carp. He moved to the American MLB in 2016, and he has since played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins. Throughout his time with the Minnesota Twins, Kenta played alongside Gary Sanchez, Gio Urshela, Sonny Gray, Byron Buxton, and Joe Ryan. Kenta’s career highlights include the Japanese Triple Crown, NPB All-Star, Mitsui Golden Glove Award, and NPB All-Star Game MVP.
