Coming from Bath, Somerset, England, The Heavy is an indie rock band found in 2007. Their musical influences are drawn from funk, soul, hip-hop, and garage rock. Founders Dan Taylor and Kelvin Swaby had their friendship started back in 1990, where appreciation in R&B music became common ground. After some time, other members Spencer Page, Chris Ellul, and Hannah Collins joined forming The Heavy.
Their studio debut “Counter” was released in 2007 under Ninja Tune label. It was followed by their full-length “Great Vengeance & Furious Fire.” Their second album “The House That Dirt Built” was released in 2009. Three years later, they released “The Glorious Dead.” Their latest album release was “Hurt & the Merciless” in 2016.
