Simu Liu is a Canadian nationalized actor, writer, and producer, born April 19, 1989, in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. He immigrated from China at age 5, and he was raised in Mississauga, Ontario. He is best known for Jung's role in the CBC television comedy “Kim's Convenience”. He was nominated three times for the ACTRA Awards and the Canadian Screen Awards for his work on “Blood and Water” and “Kim's Convenience.” He wrote on the second season of Blood and Water, working as a story editor for the season and as the main writer of an episode. His short film “Meeting Mommy” was selected as a semi-finalist for the NBC Universal Shorts Festival. He has had roles in some series such as “Heroes Reborn”, “Nikita”, “Warehouse 13”, and “Air Emergency”. In 2020, he signed a contract to play the superhero Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in the movie “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.
