Stephen Lipson was born on 16th March, 1954 in England. He is a music producer, bassist, keyboard player, guitarist, sound engineer, composer, mixer, and programmer. Pop, rock, and classical are his musical specialties, his style is film score and he was a member of The Producers. When he first started his career, he was a sound engineer for The Rolling Stones, later on he started producing music with Trevor Horn at Zang Tuum Tumb Records. Lipson is known for his collaborations with artists and performers such as Grace Jones, Propaganda, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Pet Shop Boys, Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Bonnie Tyler, Robbie Williams, Cher, and many more. He is also praised for co-writing “Slave To The Rhythm”. In the movies, he is known for his work on “Man of Steel”, “Inferno”, “The Dark Knight Rises”, etc. In 2018, he was nominated for a C.A.S. Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for Motion Pictures - Animated for “The Lego Batman Movie”.
