Having worked alongside some of the biggest names in music, producer and DJ Dijon McFarlane, who came to be known as DJ Mustard, was born on June 5, 1990, in Los Angeles, California. He got his unofficial start in the business when he was allowed to DJ a family party, and was since hooked on the practice. DJ Mustard developed a collaborative relationship with YG, a rapper from the West Coast, and has produced all of YG’s mixtapes since his release of the second one. In 2010, DJ Mustard made available to the public his compilation entitled Let’s Jerk, which featured tracks from various artists. The next year, he produced the widely popular song “Rack City” by Tyga, which went 2x Platinum in the United States.

DJ Mustard has since worked to produce tracks from artists such as 2 Chainz with his single “I’m Different”, Young Jeezy’s “R.I.P”, Bow Wow’s “We In Da Club”, and Kid Ink’s extremely popular single “Show Me”, which featured Chris Brown. DJ Mustard was later signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, shortly after releasing his mixtape Ketchup, on which he featured tracks by YG, Ty Dolla Sign, Kid Ink, Ca$h Out, and Lil Jon.
