Claire Richards is an English singer, songwriter, and dancer born in Hillingdon, England on August 17, 1977. She is best known as a singer in the pop group Steps. She started her career in the pop trio TSD and had little success with the group. In 1997 she auditioned to be part of the group Steps and joined the group alongside Ian Watkins, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, and Lee Latchford-Evans. Together they released 5 studio albums, 2 live albums, 7 compilation albums, 2 EPs and over 26 singles. In 2011 Richards competed in the British television singing competition Popstar to Operastar and has also been on the television shows Celebrity Big Brother, Loose Woman, and River City. She released her first solo song in 2015 on SoundCloud that was a cover of the Steps song “One for Sorrow.” In 2019 she released her debut studio album titled My Wildest Dreams with the lead single “On My Own.” The album was released by Sony Music and reached number 9 on the UK Albums Chart.
