Ruth Wilson MBE is an award-winning English actress best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Ashford, England, on January 13, 1982. Ruth began her acting career in 2003 when she appeared in the TV series Time Commanders, but she became famous in 2006 for her starring role in the TV mini-series Jane Eyre which also featured Toby Stephens, Lorraine Ashbourne, Aidan McArdle, and Rebekah Staton. She has since been a regular on the TV series His Dark Materials, The Affair, Luther, The Prisoner, and Suburban Shootout. Ruth’s filmography includes The Lone Ranger, Saving Mr. Banks, Anna Karenina, Locke, and The Little Stranger. Ruth has won a Golden Globes Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama, a BAFTA Cymru Award for Best Actress, and a Harper's Bazaar Award for Outstanding Performance.
