Six-time Jazz-bassist Grammy winner, Christian McBride, was born on May 31st, 1972 in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. During his teenage years, Christian played in various Jazz-bands, including Milt Jackson. Christian got married to Canadian singer Melissa Walker in 2005.
In 1994, Christian made his debut as leader of the album Getting to it. With a strong need to inspire young people, Christian is also a jazz-music teacher. Teaching children from different backgrounds how to express themselves with music.
Throughout his career he has collaborated with many different artists including the WDR Big Band on songs like Black Messiah, Gettin’ to It, and The Shade of the Cedar Tree. As well as with Eddie Palmieri on Guajeo Y Tumbao.
