Royal Republic Bio
Royal Republic is a retro pop/alternative rock band from Sweden; an anomaly from a country more know for its hard metal bands. Various Royal Republic songs might remind you of early Violent Femmes, Elvis, or Talking Heads. The line-up is Adam Grahn (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Hannes Irengård (guitar), Jonas Almén (bass), and Per Andreasson (drums).
Royal Republic’s first album “We are the Royal” was released in 2009, and immediately shot to the top of Swedish radio station’s playlists. By their second album, they were touring with artists such as Social Distortion, The Subways, Die Toten Hosen and Blink-182. They’ve since toured in Germany, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria and Poland, a European hit that hasn’t quite penetrated the UK and US.
