Jaylen Brown, whose real birth name is Jayleen Marselles Brown, is an American professional basketballer who was born on October 24, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia. He began playing in high school and was part of the USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team that won the 2014 2014 FIBA Americas Championship. He graduated in 2015 rated as a five-star recruit and began his college studies at Berkeley. He played one year of college basketball for the California Golden Bears, where he was named first-team all-conference and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. After declaring for the 2016 NBA draft following that season, he was selected with the third overall pick by the Boston Celtics. As a professional player, he has alternated between shooting guard and small forward. For the first time, he was named an NBA All-Star in 2021.
