Carrie Brownstein Bio
Carrie Brownstein, born Carrie Rachel Brownstein on September 27th 1974 in Washington and is an American model, writer, musician, actress, director and comedian. Active since 1993, she is best known for being a member of the band Excuse 17, and the group Wild Flag, releasing three albums between both bands. During her time in these bands she appeared in a series of comedy sketches with Fred Armisen, which then became the hit TV Series Portlandia, with the show winning an Emmy and Peabody Awards.
Then going on to play Syd in the comedy television series Transparent, alongside Jeffrey Tambor, Jay Duplass and Judith Light. Brownstein followed up the success of this show with her portrayal of Genevieve in Carol and more recently worked on the project Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot as Suzanne.
